Abstract

1309040 Shingles C C MERRILL and C E STROMBECK 16 Sept 1971 43141/71 Heading E1B A shingle 11 comprises a metal shell 13 and a non-compressible core 28 which rests on the surface of a roof covered by the shingle, one longitudinal edge being formed with a channel 19 to receive a lip on the bottom edge of the opposite longitudinal edge of an adjacent identical shingle, and the core being spaced from said opposite longitudinal edge to permit slight lateral adjustment of the shingles. The core may be wood but is preferably rigid closed cell foamed polyurethane formed with cylindrical apertures 31.
