Abstract

1308348 Laminates HOESCH AG 17 Nov 1970 [18 Dec 1969] 54640/60 Heading B5N [Also in Division F3] A protective shield comprises perforated steel sheets covered with a rubber layer, the perforations being four holes 1, Fig. 1, and a fifth hole 3, the latter being the same size as the holes 1. The holes 1 are positioned at the corners of an imaginary quadrilateral such as a rectangle and the hole 3 is positioned at the point of intersection of diagonals 2 which pass through the centres of the holes 1. The distance a is two thirds that of the distance b and the distance from a hole 5 to an edge 8 of a sheet 4 is half of the distance a. In a part 7, Fig. 3, of a protective shield used for example for the track guard of tracked armoured vehicles, sheets 4 are embedded in rubber 6 and are connected together thereby as shown in Fig. 4.
