1306836 Polyazo dyes SANDOZ Ltd 26 June 1970 [9 July 1969] 31122/70 Heading C4P The invention comprises polyazo dyes of formula wherein R represents the radical of a diphenylamine sulphonic acid; R 1 represents an optionally substituted phenyl or naphthyl radical; R<SP>1</SP> represents H, or a halogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl or alkoxy radical, and n is 1 or 2. The dyes may be obtained by coupling 2 moles of a diazotized aminodiphenylamine sulphonic acid of formula R-NH 2 and 1 mole of a diazotized amine of formula R 1 -NH 2 with a coupling component of formula The dyes are used for dyeing leather, on which they give brown shades.
