Abstract

1305563 Dishwashing machines KENWOOD MFG (WOKING) Ltd 7 Aug 1970 [28 Aug 1969] 43014/69 Heading A4F [Also in Division D1] A device for dispensing detergent into a dishwashing or other washing machine comprises a tray 16 for containing the detergent and having a cover 14 relative 15 which it is slidably movable, the cover 14 being fixable to the washing machine so as to remain stationary relative thereto during a dispensing operation and means being provided for releasably retaining the tray 16 in a position in which the cover 14 closes the tray. The tray 16 is connected by a pivot 15 to a support 13, a portion of which constitutes the cover 14. A peg 19 at the edge of the tray 16 engages resiliently in an aperture in the support 13 to hold the tray in its closed position. At a desired time in the operating cycle of the machine a solenoid actuated lever or hammer presses a plunger 21 to release the peg 19 so that the tray swings by gravity to its open position. In an alternative embodiment the tray 38, Fig. 7, (not shown), is not pivotable but is slidable vertically relative to its cover.
