1304582 Producing aluminium by melt electrolysis METALLGESELLSCHAFT A G 9 March 1970 [18 March 1969] 11230/70 Heading C7B [Also in Division C1] Alumina for use in the melt electrolytic production of aluminium consists of calcined alumina which contains 0À01 to 0À5 wt % of Li 2 O, calculated as metal, and is produced by adding lithuim ions to an aqueous alkali metal aluminate solution and caleining the resulting precipitate.
