Abstract

1304205 Swashplate pump control APPLIED POWER INDUSTRIES Inc. 9 Nov 1970 [30 Jan 1970] 53101/70 Heading G3P The swashplate 20 of a variable delivery pump is supported by a thrust bearing 26 associated with a backing plate 30 co-operable with port 36 to produce a back pressure downstream of restriction 46 in intake line 40, proportional to the load on the bearing. When the back pressure reaches a certain level, pilot valve 52 opens to admit fluid to port 62 to reduce the pump output. A restrictor 49 or an existing leakage path connects port 62 to drain.
