Abstract

1303990 Torsional vibration damper POWDER COUPLINGS Ltd 6 May 1970 [7 May 1969] 23192/69 Heading F2S The invention relates to torsional vibration dampers of the type having a member 11, to be secured to a shaft subject to torsional vibrations, a projection 24, 31, 41, on the member, and a housing 16, 43 rotatable relative to the member 11 and defining therewith a chamber 19 containing the projection and a charge 22 of powder or shot which transmits drive from the member 11 to an inertia mass 21, 44. The invention provides a resilient means (spring- steel fingers 24, Fig. 1, spring 38, Fig. 4, and rubber ring 45, Fig. 5) through which drive is transmitted from the member 11 to the inertia mass via the shot.
