Abstract

1303928 Radio receivers BLAUPUNKT WERKE GmbH 17 Aug 1971 [18 Aug 1970] 38521/71 Heading H3Q A receiver for a signal having at least a residual carrier comprises: a local oscillator 7 locked to the frequency of the residual carrier; a mixer 2 for heterodyning the received signal, e.g. from i.f. amplifier 1, with the local oscillator signal to derive an information frequency output, e.g. fed to low frequency stage 9, and a subinformation frequency output, e.g. across capacitor 11, whose amplitude is dependent on the carrier amplitude; and gain control means 13 responsive to the sub-information frequency signal for controlling the receiving gain. The gain control path also includes a switch 12 controlled by a level discriminator 14 which reduces the a.g.c. signal when double sideband full amplitude carrier signals are being received.
