1303671 Hydraulic power take-offs KARL MENGELE & SOHNE MASCHINENFABRIK U EISENGIESSEREI 9 March 1970 11226/70 Heading B7H Apparatus for transmitting a power take-off drive from a tractor to an agricultural machine comprises a variable-output hydraulic pump 29 driven by the tractor engine and connected by fluid pressure lines to an hydraulic motor 14 having detachable fastening means whereby the motor can be attached to the rear end 20 of the tractor so that the motor output shaft 15 forms a power take-off or attached directly to a machine towed or carried by the tractor. The pump 29 is driven from the engine crank-shaft 3 through gears 4. Pressure and return lines from the pump 29 and to a reservoir 22 terminate at the rear end 20 of the tractor in fixed connecting elements to which flexible motor lines 13, 17 are either directly connected when the motor 14 is attached to the tractor by fastening means 16 or are connected by flexible extension lines 37 when the motor 14 is attached to a machine 33 by fastening means 36. The connecting elements 11, 19 may each be constituted by one half of an automatically closing plug-in coupling. Additional connecting elements 10, 21 are provided for supplying further hydraulically-powered apparatus, and flow of pressure fluid thereto is limited by a valve 9. An adjustable relief valve 25 is provided in the pressure line from the pump 29, and a valve 26 may be opened to connect the pressure line directly to the reservoir in order to disconnect the power take-off drive. Coupling means 28 provide for simultaneous adjustment of a flow control valve 27 and the output of the pump 29, and a valve 7 permits the valve 27 to be bypassed when required. A reversing valve 23 controls the direction of rotation of the motor 14. A pump cooling fan 38 is mounted on the shaft of the pump 29, and the pump draws fluid from the reservoir 22 through a heat exchanger 2 positioned in the air flow from a cooling fan of a radiator 1.
