1300799 Supporting magnetic heads SHEPPERTON STUDIOS Ltd 17 June 1971 [6 Aug 1970] 38055/70 Heading G5R To reduce vibration, a magnetic head 20 is embedded together with its supporting bracket structure 31, 34 in a rigid block 25 of potting material. As shown, the polepieces 22 of the head 20 project from the upper surface 26 of the block 25, which has rounded edges 28. Before potting, the head 20 is adjusted for azimuth and wrap and is then fixed by means of screws 32, 37. A magnetic screen and one or more further heads may be embedded in the block 25.
