Abstract

1300417 Seat covers STOREY BROS & CO Ltd 24 April 1970 [24 April 1969] 21097/69 Heading A4M [Also in Division B5] A loose seat cover is formed by preforming polyvinyl chloride sheeting 12 to the desired shape of the cover and with a pattern of fluting, sandwiching a foam plastics layer 14 between the shaped sheeting 12 and a fabric backing layer 16 to raise the fluting, disposing an additional polyvinyl chloride sheet 18 over at least that part of the shaped sheeting 12 provided with the pattern of fluting, and joining the backing layer 16, the padding layer 14, the shaped sheeting 12, and the additional sheet 18 by heat welding along the trough-lines 20 of the fluting. The sheeting 12 is preformed by vacuum or pressure moulding. A further foam plastics layer 32, Fig. 2 (not shown) may be interposed between the sheeting 12 and sheet 18. The sheet 18 may be perforated. Beading may be welded around the edge of the fluted area.
