Abstract

1300199 Mattress handles E O KERR 17 June 1971 28338/71 Heading A4M A mattress handle comprises a hand-grip strap 22 provided with a hole through each end 24, the holes receiving grommets 20 fitted in the mattress side, elongate connecting elements 30 each having a shank 32 extending through a grommet 20 and provided at one end with a head 42 which bears on the outer end of a grommet 20, and a connecting rod 50 which engages slots 36 in the inner ends of the connecting elements 30 and passes through intermediate turns of coil springs 10 of the mattress to secure the handle to the mattress. The shank 32 carries projections 46 which engage the inner surface of a grommet 20 and resilient fingers 48 which snap into engagement with the inner end of a grommet 20 when the shank is pushed therethrough.
