Abstract

130,003. Schroeder, F. W. Nov. 25, 1916. Locks, revolving-barrel; keys.-The flat key c of a pin-tumbler lock is provided with a groove c<6> along its operative edge, the angle subtended by the sides of the groove being less than the angle at the apex of each tumbler pin d, so that the points of the tumblers are out of contact with the edge of the key when this is being inserted. A projection on the casing extends into the keyhole and engages the groove c<6> of the key. The key has side recesses c<3> engaging with corresponding projections b<2> on the barrel. The key is provided with two operating-edges, so that it may operate one lock when inserted in one position, and a second lock when inserted in the other position. The notches c<5> and projections c<4> on one edge of the key are opposite the notches c<2> and projections c<1> respectively of the other edge.
