Abstract
1299588 Treating I. C. engine charge DORADO RESEARCH Inc 29 Dec 1970 [29 Dec 1969] 53496/70 Heading F1B A plate or plates 14,15 adapted to be mounted between a carburetter 11 and an I. C. engine intake manifold 10 have at least one bore 20, 22 supplied with air from a chamber 40 surrounding the bore and opening to the bore through passages 48 leading to a divergent section 44 of the bore and a chamber 29 communicating with the atmosphere through a suction responsive valve 30. The chamber 29 is connected to the or each bore 20, 22 by passages 35, 36, 37 opening to a cylindrical section 33 of the bore. The passages 48 are inclined downwardly and to the bore radial direction to provide a vortex air flow which is clockwise in one bore 22 and anti-clockwise in the other bore 20. The valve 30 may be slightly open at full throttle and more fully open on deceleration. The air inlet passages 24,26,28 to the chambers 40 and 29 may contain orifices.
