Abstract

1299425 Container closures SWEETHEART PLASTICS Ltd 17 Feb 1970 7591/70 Heading B8T Snap fit caps of the domed type are specially formed so that they have good stability when stacked for use in mechanical cap applying machines. A rib (32) is provided in the skirt (30), Fig. 2 (not shown), to produce a snap fit over rounded portion (14) of the container. When stacked the flange 38 of a lower cap engages the lower side 36 of a rib in the skirt of the upper cap. In a second embodiment, ribs are provided on the outside of the conical portion of the caps to prevent the caps sticking together when stacked.
