1299298 Oxygenated derivative of valencene R FIRMENICH G FIRMENICH R E FIRMENICH and F H FIRMENICH [trading as FIRMENICH & CIE] 22 July 1970 [22 July 1969 18 Dec 1969 8 July 1970] 35633/70 Heading C2C Oxygenated dervivatives of valencene are produced by oxidising valencene by means of triplet or singlet oxygen. The use of triplet oxygen is thought to give rise to a compound of the formula and the use of singlet oxygen is thought to give rise to compounds of the formulae Nethatone may be produced by dehydrating the hydroperoxides.
