Abstract

1299059 Pneumatic conveyers SPETSIALNOE KONSTRUKTORSKOE BJURO "TRANSNEFTAVTOMATIKA" 22 June 1971 29084/71 Heading B8A A container 1 for the transport of goods in a pneumatic conveyer tube 6 has trunnions 2 mounted on respective end walls to receive a carriage 3. Each carriage comprises a hub 4 with radial extending guides 10 upon which slides 8 are mounted for radial movement. The slides are urged outwardly in a radial direction by springs 12 and mounted wheels 5 to bear against the tube 6 such that variations in crosssection can be accommodated by the independently mounted wheels. Also mounted on the guides 8 to move therewith are sector plates 13 forming a disc across which a pressure differential is created to propel the container along the tube, adjacent plates overlapping one another to effect a seal therebetween. An elastic member 16 is secured to the periphery of the disc to effect a seal with the tube 6. Arms 17 secured to the slides 8 bear against shockabsorbers 18 mounted on the hub 4 to transmit the weight of the container to the wheels.
