Abstract
1299033 Metalized disazo dyes CROMPTON & KNOWLES CORP 25 May 1971 [9 June 1970] 17026/71 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs of the formula (wherein R is H, CH 3 or OCH 3 , A is the residue of 1 - naphthylamine - 4,5,6 or 7 - sulphonic acid or 2 - naphthylamine - 6 - sulphonic acid, and B is the residue of 2-naphthol-4,6 or 7- sulphonic acid or 1-naphthol-3,4 or 5-sulphonic acid, in which the sulpho groups can be in salt form, the azo N being bonded to the C atom of the naphthalene ring) are prepared by diazotizing a suitable naphthylamine sulphonic acid, coupling with o-anisidine, cresidine or 2,5-dimethoxyaniline, rediazotizing, coupling with an appropriate naphthol sulphonic acid and finally subjecting the diazo compound to demethylative coppering. It is preferred to use the #-methylsulphonate of o-anisidine with subsequent hydrolysis before rediazotization. The dyestuffs are useful for the dyeing of nylon in blue shades.
