Abstract

1298663 Frame members IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 18 March 1970 [18 Dec 1968] 60108/68 Addition to 1200306 Heading E1J The hollow frame members, preferably compression moulded from a partially cured sheet of e.g. glass fibre reinforced polyester resin and provided with hollow ridges 12A, 12B formed as described and claimed in parent Specification, have inserted therein, for reinforcement against deflection under loading such that a resistance to a deflection is exerted at least transversely to the ridge, reinforcing member 17, 18, 19 of a load bearing metal such as copper, brass and steel or a plastics material e.g. glass fibre reinforced polyester resin. The reinforcing member may be of Z- section as shown, or closed box section the form of an I, or a box section split longitudinally along one side. The construction of a window with pivoted sashes is also described utilising joints as described and claimed in Specification 1200597.
