Abstract

1298244 Photographic antihalation layers KODAK Ltd 14 Jan 1971 [15 Jan 1970] 1958/70 Heading G2C A photographic material having a polyester film support carries on one surface of the support an antihalation layer containing a light-absorbing pigment material, e.g. carbon black, an alkalisoluble or softenable polymeric binder, e.g. a copolymer of methyl methacrylate and acrylic acid, and an aliphatic polyphosphate anionic surface active agent, e.g. of the formula M 5 R 5 (P 3 O 10 ) 2 where R is an aliphatic group of 4-12C such as 2-ethylhexyl and M is an alkalimetal or ammonium cation. The antihalation layer is removable in alkaline processing baths. The layer may also contain an adhesion promotor such as resorcinol.
