1296575 Cleaning floors J C BACKAUS 8 Oct 1970 [10 Oct 1969 (2)] 47897/70 Heading A4F [Also in Division B8] A method of removing spilt liquid from a surface or for preventing contamination of a surface by spilt liquid comprises applying to the surface to be cleaned or protected bags made of permeable material resistant to the spilt liquid and packed with particulate absorbent material. The method may be applied to the removal of spilt oil from a street surface or to the protection of the ground at a liquid filling station or to the protection of the inner bottom surface of a container in which liquid-containing vessels are to be transported. The bags may be of flat rectangular form and of perforated plastics film and provided with a handle. Also in order to permit the contents of the bags to be changed the filling opening for each bag has a sliding clasp fastener.
