Abstract

1294999 Upholstered seats FORD MOTOR Co Ltd 21 Sept 1971 [1 Oct 1970] 43858/71 Heading A4M A vehicle seat comprises a seat frame 1 embedded in a foamed, U-shaped perimeter cushion 4, a seat section 11 disposed within the perimeter cushion 4 and comprising a foam cushion 13 containing a reinforcing grid 12, and tension spring elements 18 inter-connecting the frame 1 and grid 12. The seat includes a back rest which may be adjustable hinged, at 3, to the seat frame. The back rest is of similar construction to the seat portion but includes a reinforced headrest portion 5, 9. The spring elements 18 may comprise helical springs with a resilient covering or resilient rings, strings or bands.
