Abstract

1294435 Clamping bands ALL STATES PLASTIC MFG CO Inc 26 May 1971 17149/71 Heading E2B A bundle tie of resilient material comprises a strap 11 having on one side a plurality of longitudinally spaced, transverse teeth 12, a head 21 at one end of the strap, the head having walls defining an aperture to pass the strap, the interior face 44 of one wall being flat for abutment by the other side of the strap and a pawl 41 having a plurality of teeth, the pawl being carried on the head by a neck portion integral with a ledge 37 and extending into the aperture, the pawl being swingable between strap releasing and strap engaging positions, the apex angle of the pawl teeth being less than the apex angle of the strap teeth, whereby when in use, the strap is around a bundle, passed through the aperture and pulled tight on abutment face 41e, 41f of each pawl tooth respectively is compressed into face to face relation with a face of one of the respective strap teeth. A pair of lugs 31 on the strap prevents the bundle becoming wedged in a corner. The tie may be moulded from plastics.
