1294153 4-Bromo-2,5-dichlorophenol NIPPON CHEMICAL INDUSTRIAL Ltd. 5 Oct 1970 [8 Oct 1969] 47179/70 Heading C2C A process for the preparation of 4-bromo-2,5- dichlorophenol comprises reacting 2,5-dichlorophenol with bromine in a mol. ratio of 1 : 0À50 to 0À55 in a monocarboxylic acid solvent at a temperature not in excess of 40‹ C., introducing 0.45 to 0.51 mol. chlorine gas per mol. of 2,5- dichlorophenol into the reaction mixture at the same temperature, and removing the solvent.
