1293182 Supply fitting for showers &c WALKER CROSWELLER & CO Ltd 5 May 1970 [5 Feb 1969] 6106/69 Heading A4N [Also in Divisions B2 and F2] A washing appliance, e.g. a shower, bath or basin, comprises a water catchment member such as a basin having an open outlet 6, a water delivery pipe 8 connected to the appliance and adjustable to vary its position over the catchment member and a spray nozzle 17 mounted on the outlet end of the delivery pipe, and adapted to control and direct the flow of the water discharged into the catchment member. The delivery pipe 8 is arcuate for the main part 8a, and slidable in a larger, similarly arcuate pipe 10, attached at one end to a supply pipe 14 and at its other end to the basin 1 via a threaded bush 7 in an aperture 5 in the back rim 2 of the basin 1. The upper end 8b of the pipe 8 is bent away and carries the spray nozzle 17, movable about a generally spherical head 17a. The spray nozzle 17 is arranged to discharge water at two pressures, each corresponding to a different position, the flow being cut off or reduced to a trickle atintermediate positions. A second embodiment, Fig.3 (not shown) incorporates the spray nozzle 17 mounted on an arm (27) by a knuckle joint, the arm (27) being similarly mounted about a supply pipe 14 attached to the wall. Both joints allow rotation only in a horizontal direction. A third embodiment, Fig.4 (not shown), also for use in a shower, comprises a fixed pipe (29) mounted on the wall, in which is slidably mounted a supply pipe (28) carrying at its other end the rotatable spray nozzle 17.
