1293163 Jacks SKANSKA CEMENTGJUTERIET AB 11 Nov 1969 [12 Nov 1968] 55127/69 Heading B8J Jaws 6. . . 9 to effect relative vertical movement between a pontoon and a support pillar 2 are interconnected by two parallel hydraulic jacks, each having a cylinder 10 and a piston-rod 11, pairs of plates 12, 13, pairs of parallel links 14... 17 and pivot pins 14a to 17b, the pins 14a, 15a and 16a, 17a being traversed by stays 24, 25 carrying springs 26 ... 29 and nuts 30 ... 33, and the jaws having guide bars 36, 37 extending therethrough. The plates 13 are coupled to lugs 20 on the pontoon. The jaws can be pressed against the pillar by either suitable operation of the jacks or tightening the nuts 30 ... 33. Nuts 38.. - 45 can be moved so as to either fix the guide bars to the jaws or allow the guide bars to move vertically relative to the jaws. Members 46 guide the relative movement between the jaws and the pillar. The mode of operation in raising and lowering the pontoon and the pillar is described with reference to Figs. 4 to 8 (not shown).
