Abstract
1292387 Thermoelectric devices MINNESOTA MINING & MFG CO 19 Feb 1970 8118/70 Heading H1K [Also in Division C7] A thermoelectric generator comprises at least one thermocouple with N-type and P-type thermoelectric legs, the latter consisting of:- Cu 27-67a/o Te 32À5-33À7a/o and Ag 0-40 a/o or Cu 60-67a/o Se 32À5-33À7a/o and Ag 0-7a/o with optional additions to both compositions of up to 1 w/o in total of Na, K, Li, Sn, Cr and Mn. The P-type leg may be made by casting or possibly by powder metallurgy, it may comprise at least two segements of differing composition for use in different thermal gradients; and it may be pressure engaged at the hot end with a contact member of oxide-free Mo, Mo-Fe alloy Ni, graphite or Pt.
