1292367 Keyboards for printers A T COURTNEY 11 May 1971 [21 May 1970] 24683/70 Heading B6F A keyboard relating to a first alphabet is arranged so that all the letters of the first alphabet which have phonetic equivalents or near equivalents in a second alphabet are in positions to conform with the positions occupied by said equivalent or near equivalent letters in a standard keyboard for the second alphabet. In the embodiment described, Russian characters are arranged in positions corresponding to the English "QWERTY" keyboard so that a Russian-speaking English touch typist will be able to type more quickly than on the standard Russian "VAPRO" keyboard (Fig. 2, not shown).
