1292319 Alkaline protease from B. subtilis KYOWA HAKKO KOGYO CO Ltd 25 Oct 1969 [25 Oct 1968] 50484/69 Heading C3H A process for producing alkaline protease comprises culturing in a nutrient medium a strain of Bacillus subtilis having the ability to grow in the nutrient medium in the presence of sodium lauryl sulphate. Suitable strains are ATCC 21415, 21416, 21417 and 21418. The enzyme may be isolated by solvent or salt precipitation and purified by adsorption or by ion-exchange resins.
