Abstract

129,212. Harrington, L. R. Jan. 15, 1919. Rack stands; suspended racks.-Display stands of the type in which platforms rest on rods frictionally secured in transverse apertures in upright posts have means provided to prevent tilting of the platforms. The means shown in Fig. 1 comprises two flanged sleeves D, D', which screw together to grip the platform A between the flanges D<2>, D<3>, the sleeve D<1> resting on the rod C and the sleeve D forming a large loose bearing on the upright post B. In a modification, a nut replaces the sleeve D', and in another form two nuts screw on a flangeless sleeve to hold the platforms A between them. Articles may be hung from the rods C, and, according to the Provisional Specification, the rods C may be formed into racks for supporting goods by means, of rails connected to their outer ends, and the posts are provided with hooks &c. for suspending the rack.
