Abstract

1291407 Forage harvester FELLA-WERKE GmbH 24 May 1971 [23 May 1970] 16699/71 Heading A1F A delivery duct 2 of a forage harvester is pivoted on axle 4 to the cutter housing 3 to permit access to the cutters and has a delivery elbow 8 which is rotated about the axis of duct 2 by cable 9 when the duct is locked to the housing 3 by catches 6, but when the catches are released cable 9 serves to control the raising and lowering of the duct about axle 4. The ends 9a, 9b of the cable are attached to the machine frame 1 via springs 12 and via plate 13 pivotable about axle 4 by ram 14, respectively, and the cable is attached at 10 to elbow 8 after passing over pulley 11 on duct 2. Spring 12 is chosen so that the tension in the cable 9 between the extreme points of rotation of elbow 8 ranges from below to above that required to hold the duct 2 upright when the catches 6 are undone.
