Abstract

1291402 Tube walls for furnaces W B BLACK 21 April 1971 10333/71 Heading F4B A flame injection throat or burner guard for a boiler having tubes 12 arranged in banks on either side of the quarl with their axes perpendicular to the quarl axis, has refractory cement surrounding the tubes and refractory tiles 5 lining the quarl, at least some of the tiles having recesses 9 in their front face to receive nuts 14 Fig. 4, securing bolts 13 passing through the tiles 5 and fast with the tubes, and refractory cement filling the recesses. The rear faces of the tiles 5 are grooved at 15 to key with the refractory cement lining the quarl, and the edges of the tiles are rabbeted, Fig. 3.
