Abstract
1289644 Rearview mirrors DRING hcF PORSCHE K G 15 April 1970 [15 April 1969] 17932/70 Heading B7J A vehicle rearview mirror 1 comprises a first member 5 supporting a mirror reflector casing 2 and being releasably interconnected by a rigid bolt 10 with a second member 6 which is attached to the vehicle 14. The bolt 10 is screwed into a bore 12 in member 5, the head of the bolt being held against a step in an aperture 11 in member 5. Members 5, 6 have contact surfaces which slope downwards towards the front of the vehicle, the surfaces having inter-engaging V-shaped formations (Fig. 2, not shown). On impact, the contact surfaces slide upon one another to release the head of bolt 10 from its step, thus enabling the members 5, 6 to separate.
