128,875. Bowles, G. B. Feb. 22, 1919. Covers.-The cover of a railway-vehicle axlebox is locked by means that can only be released when the vehicle is lifted relatively to the axlebox. The cover a is secured by a nut m on a bolt i which extends through holes in lugs j, k on the side of the axle-box, and abuts against a side member c of the guard plate. A hole c<2> in the plate c allows the bolt to be moved back when the vehicle is raised from the axle-box. Stops i<2>, i<3> limit the movement of the bolt i. In a modification, the bolt can be moved through the plate c into a hole in a lug n in line with that in the lug k. A dust-shield p is employed, as described in Specification 128,156.
