Abstract

The prestressed concrete containment 3, is divided into upper and lower. chambers, 4 5, by the barrier 6, and membrane 9 The chambers are connected by the ducts 10, and frangible diaphragm 11, which fractures in the event of a large steam leakage in 5. The discharge is contained, at a reduced pressure in the combined volume 4, 5. The diaphragm may be replaced by a flap valve and the linkage steam discharged through the pond 7. Hydraulic accumulators 19, supply the coolant circuit in an emergency.
