Abstract

1286953 Mineral mining machines AUSTIN HOY & CO Ltd 22 Sept 1969 [17 Sept 1968] 44224/68 Heading E1F [Also in Division F2] A coal cutter or conveyer chain adapted to run in a guide track 11 comprises sections 1 pivoted together and each having at least one link 3, and bearing members 2 adapted to be guided in the guide track 11 and secured to alternate sections 1 to maintain the links 3 out of contact with the guide track. The chain comprises alternate single and twin links 3 pivoted together by pins 5 retained by dowel pins 6 or other means. The bearing members 2 are bolted to the sections 1 comprising two links 3, and carry flanges 2a, 2b on which cutter pick holders 10 with picks 13 are mounted. The sides of the bearing members 2 face wear strips 12 in the track 11. The links may carry rollers (14) (Figs. 3-5, not shown) which bear on the guide track 11. A split tooth driving sprocket (not shown) engages the link knuckles 4. (For Figures see next page)
