Abstract

1285912 Scrapers for piling loose material F SIGISMONDO 22 Sept 1969 [23 Sept 1968] 46502/69 Heading B8E A drag-line scraper, Figs. 1, 2, for moving loose material piled between walls 4-7, comprises an arm 2 rotatable about a vertical axis and a bucket 28 which is dragged along the ground either in a vertical plane through the arm or in a vertical plane inclined to the vertical plane through the arm. The bucket is deflected from the vertical plane through the arm 2 by rollers 21 mounted on a member 13 which is pivoted about a horizontal axis by guides 16 on a supporting tower 1. The cycle of operations proceeds automatically, limit and reversing switches being operated by stops 45, 49 which engage levers 43, 46. A counterweight 33 which is supported by the cable 27 also operates limit switches when it reaches its extreme positions. The bucket 28 has an aperture 50 in its upper surface.
