1285495 Treating gases with liquids GOTTFRIED BISCHOFF BAU KOMPL GASREINIGUNGS UND WASSERRUCKKUHLANLAGEN KG 3 Nov 1970 52163/70 Heading B1R [Also in Division F4] Packing for a gas/liquid contact heat exchanger comprises vertical plates or grids from which bar-shaped elements 2 project horizontally each element having the cross-section of an isoceles triangle with one face 4 arranged horizontally to constitute a drip surface, the elements being arranged in a regular pattern on the plate or grid such that one corner of an elemnet is directly over the drip surface of another element. Preferably the grids or plates and the elements 2 are integral and are made from a plastics material. The plates or grids mutually support one another by means of spigot and socket connections 3.
