Abstract

1285149 Sprinkler washing machines INDUSTRIE A ZANUSSI SpA 26 March 1970 [31 March 1969 31 Oct 1969] 14989/70 Heading D1A In a washing machine wherein laundry is hung from supports 13 in a cupboard-like container and successively sprayed from an upper spray 16 and a movable lower spray 17 with washing and rinsing liquid and dried by warmed air, the lower spray 17 includes nozzles adapted to emit vertically directed jets. The nozzles may provide fan-shaped or open sprays of liquid and the sprays are preferably both movable by the dynamic reaction of suitable jets. In Fig. 3 rotating sprinkler bars 16, 17 are fed alternately with liquid from device 20 after the liquid has passed through a filter screen 21 and a heater 23, the jets of liquid from the lower spray being of the greater intensity. In alternatives the nozzles are arranged in parallel bars (17a) which are reciprocable as a unit (Fig. 4, not shown). Air is drawn from the atmosphere and directed by a fan 26 past a heater 27, through the cabinet and out of a part 28.
