Abstract

1285113 Clamps AMP Inc 3 April 1970 [4 April 1969] 16036/70 Heading E2B A plastics band-clamp comprises a tail 15 which, in use, passes through an eye 20 and is held there by a metal clip 30 having barbs 35 which bite into the sides 18 of the tail to prevent its withdrawal. Finger-grips 12 and an entry point 16 are provided. The legs 31 of the clip are welded into the plastic of the eye by means of ultarsonic energy which melts the plastics locally. If desired, only a single barb at one side may be used.
