Abstract

1285019 Sliding seats COMPIN ETABS 19 April 1971 [27 April 1970] 25234/71 Heading A4J A pull-out seat arranged to be stable in any position, regardless of the position or weight of the user, comprises a seat and back unit frame 7 having at the front a guide 9 sliding on a block 3 pivotally mounted on the base 1 and at the back a supporting link 5 pivoted to the frame 7 and base 1 at 6, 4 respectively, and an elastic member 14, shown as a rubber spring, exerting a pull between the front of the frame 7 at 16 and the back of the base 1 at 17 to resist the downward movement of the centre of gravity of the seat unit as it is moved forwards. The top of the seat-back moves substantially vertically as the seat unit tilts in its forward movement. The horizontal part of the frame 7 carries an elastic sheet to support the upholstery 8.
