Abstract

1284185 Endless conveyers SAUNIER DWAL 23 Oct 1970 [24 Oct 1969] 50539/70 Heading B8A Receptacles 4 detachably secured by counterweighted arms 7 to a pair of endless chains are detached at predetermined positions, according to a code (11), (12), Fig. 2 (not shown), carried thereby, by a series of arms 14, 15, 17 independently pivotally secured to the chains in advance of each receptacle and co-operating with a cam 21 at the discharge point. The arm 14 abuts a lower corner of the receptacle to stabilize the same whilst the arm 15 bears against the receptacle on the lower half thereof and the arm 17 bears against the receptacle on the upper half thereof at the opposite end of the receptacle to the arm 15. At each discharge station the cam, controlled by a code sensor, is movable about a vertical axis into an operative position whereat it is first engaged by a roller 14b attached to the arm 14 to pivot the same away from the receptacle, then by a roller 16b attached to the arm 15 to pivot the same and push the receptacle out of the vertical towards a receiving platform 26, and then by a roller 18b attached to the arm 17 to pivot the same and push the top of the receptable away from the chains and into a substantially vertical disposition for deposit at the discharge station. Empty arms held horizontal by the counterweight may engage receptacles held at feeding station 25 and raises the same along a pivotable flap 24 into a carrying position between the chains.
