Abstract

1283978 Mounting metallurgical converters VEREINIGTE OSTERREICHISCHE EISENUND STAHLWERKE AG 3 Oct 1968 [8 Oct 1968] 48693/69 Addition to 1124038 Heading F4B In the carrying structure for a converter disclosed in parent Specification, the eyes 9 are removably mounted in the U-shaped support 2, wedge-shaped projections 10 engaging corresponding recesses 11 in the support 2 to align said eyes and therefore the converter in said support 2. Each claw pin 5 engages a bearing in a bushing 6 connected by screws 8 to an eye 9, said bearing comprising outer and inner rings 14 and 15 with spherical bearing surfaces accommodating angular displacement of the pin. The outer ring 14 is fixed to the bushing 6 by a sleeve 16 and each eye is fixed to the support 2 by bolts 12 slewable into recesses 13 in the eye when the latter is aligned.
