Abstract
1283256 Valves AVCO CORP 29 Sept 1970 46156/70 Heading F2V A valve for controlling flow of fluid from the discharge of a gas turbine engine compressor to its inlet to prevent ice formation has a spring- loaded piston 38 displaceable relative to a seat 42 by the fluid pressure differential thereon which differential is controlled by a restricted path between the piston and its cylinder and a spring-biased solenoid-operated pilot valve member 56, co-operating with a passage 48 to prevent or allow communication between the inside of the piston and a port 54 connected to a low pressure region. In a modification the bore 48 opens into the valve inlet and a ball on the end of a solenoid-operated stem moves between seats to communicate the inside of the piston to either pressure fluid at the inlet or to port 54.
