1283063 Draw bars DIRECT NITROGEN Ltd 13 Jan 1970 [13 Feb 1969] 7827/69 Heading B7T [Also in Division F2] An over-run brake system for use in a trailer has a fixed element 1, Fig. 1 (not shown), having a square cross-section tube 4 on which is mounted a brake operating mechanism 24 and a second element 2 is movable through tube 4 and can be fixed in one of several positions with respect thereto by means of a pin 19 which extends through a collar 17 attached to mechanism 24, a slot 16 of tube 4, and element 2, a spring 26 acting to separate elements (1), 2 such that when the trailer over-runs a towing vehicle element 2 is forced towards element 1 to actuate the piston 23 of brake operating mechanism 24 to supply hydraulic fluid to the trailer brakes through a line 25.
