Abstract

1281922 Electric timepieces HORSTMANN CLIFFORD MAGNETICS Ltd 2 July 1970 [23 July 1969 8 Jan 1970 17 March 1970 7 May 1970] 37076/69 978/70 12723/70 and 22113/70 Heading G3T An electrically maintained oscillating member 11, which may be one tine of a tuning fork, has a non- magnetic bracket 12 supporting bar magnets 13, 14 which co-operate with a wavy magnetic track of a driven rotor 17. Isochronous compensation is provided by a magnetic plate 19 which is adjustably mounted adjacent pole 20 of the magnet 14. Various forms of compensating plate are described Figs. 5, 10 to 14, 16 to 18 (not shown) and a similar plate may be provided adjacent pole 25 of the magnet 13. If the oscillator is a tuning fork, the other tine may be provided with a balance weight or with a magnetic arrangement similar to that shown and cooperating with the wavy track at a diametrically opposed point on the rotor 17. A frequency regulating element may be provided in the form of an adjusting screw (36), Fig. 3 (not shown) of magnetic material and having a frusto-conical end aligned with the pole 25.
