Abstract

1281869 Collapsible tubes SWISS ALUMINIUM Ltd 21 Oct 1970 [21 Oct 1969] 50050/70 Heading B8D [Also in Division F2] A tube, for use in making a container from which contents are expelled by pressure, is manufactured by forming a plastics tube and fixing a metal foil around the outer periphery of the plastics tube. Aluminium foil is coated with polyethylene acrylacid-copolymerizate adhesive and applied to a polyethylene tube or it is coated with vinylchloride-vinylacetate-copolymerizate adhesive and applied to a P.V.C. tube. The plastics tube is made by injection or blow moulding. The foil may be applied with an overlapping longitudinal seam, or it may be applied in helicoidal form.
