1281165 Secateurs T R COUGHTRIE 5 Jan 1970 [25 Nov 1968] 55717/68 Heading B4B A secateur comprises a jaw 11 fixed to a handle 10, a second jaw 12 pivotally connected to the handle 10 and to a second handle 13 and a link 14 which, together with the handle 13, forms a toggle linkage. In a modification, Fig. 3, a jaw 21 is fixed to a handle member 20 and a second jaw 23 is pivotally connected thereto and to a lever 25. A lever 24 is pivotally connected to the free end of the lever 25, and to the member 20, the lever 24 having a slot in which a pin 29 on a second pivoted handle, 22, is movable. A coil spring is provided for maintaining the jaw 12 or 23 in an open position, the latter being kept closed by a clip when the secateur is not in use.
