Abstract

1281115 Suction cleaners VIBRASUG A B 16 March 1970 [9 April 1969] 12623/70 Heading A4F [Also in Division D1] Apparatus for treating or cleaning an article permeable to fluid, such as a carpet, rug, or an article of bedding or clothing, comprises means for causing fluid to flow through a permeable member 6 having a polygonal surface for supporting an article, and means for masking at least a portion of the surface comprising two impermeable sheets 12 (one only of which is shown in Fig.4) each attached by one edge portion 13 to the member 6 and foldable about a member 15 attached to an opposite edge portion, the edge portions 13 being attached to adjacent sides of the polygonal surface. Each sheet 12 is unfolded as desired for determining the masking of the member 6 to a side of the polygonal surface opposite to one of the sides to which the two sheets 12 are attached may be attached a third sheet 12. In one embodiment the member 6 constitutes the top wall of a chamber 1 Fig.1 (not shown) connected by a conduit to a suction fan. In a further embodiment for suction cleaning and disinfecting an article the member 6 is mounted as a partition in a chamber 10 Fig.2 (not shown), an inlet of a suction fan being connected to the chamber beneath the support 6, and a conduit for supplying disinfectant leading into a further conduit connecting the fan outlet with the chamber above the support 6.
