Abstract

1281041 Weapons HECKLER & KOCH GmbH 15 Sept 1969 [18 Sept 1968] 45381/69 Heading F3C A self-loading pistol has a sear 43 movable rearwardly by a trigger 2 to entrain a nose part 59 of a spring loaded striker pin 7 of a longitudinally displaceable breech assembly 4. After a common movement of the sear 43 and striker pin, the sear is deflected out of the region of the nose part to release the striker pin for firing the cartridge. In the construction shownthe sear 43 is mounted between a pair of trigger rods 27 slidably guided by a pin 38 mounted across the weapon casing. The pin 38 strikes an inclined surface 49 on the sear 43 to deflect it away from the firing pin. A pivotally mounted catch pawl 51 is provided which, on actuation of a selector rod 55, renders the weapon automatically operating, the catch pawl entraining the striking pin on its rearward movement with the breech block and only releasing the striking pin on engagement of a control cam 69 of the breech block with the catch pawl when the breech block is in the firing position. The breech assembly 4 is retained about the barrel 9 and its mounting block 8 by a slider 15.
